Check-in & check-out.
Checking in
- Check in after 2:00 pm, check out by 12:00 pm — unless we've worked out something different with you.
- We'll text you the keypad code before your stay. Any trouble with the lock, give us a call and we'll be happy to help — please don't force the lock or keypad.
- Make yourself at home — it's fine to adjust the A/C or heat.
- Two cars fit in the drive; additional cars can park along the side. Please don't block the neighbors' driveways or the shared road.
- Check the garage for patio furniture, umbrellas, floats, and coolers.
- Read the FAQ and Lake Rules.
Checking out
- Strip the beds you used and wash and dry as much laundry as you can — the more done, the merrier.
- Leave clean linens on the bed for the housekeeper to remake.
- Towels can go in the dryer or be folded and put away — please don't leave anything wet in the washer.
- Take the trash next door.
- Drop recycling at the Coatesville recycling center.
- Anything you found in the garage goes back in the garage.
- Lock all doors and close all windows.
- Turn off the ceiling fans.
- Set the thermostat to 76° in summer or 62° in winter.
A few things to keep it great for everyone.
The short version: treat it like your own. The details keep the house in shape and the neighbors happy so the next family walks into the same place you did.
01Let us know who's coming
Sleeps about 6–8 comfortably. Let us know your headcount in advance. No parties or events.
02Keep it low at night
Sound carries over water and the neighbors are close. Keep it low outside and on the dock at night.
03Smoke outside
Please smoke and vape outside, away from doors and windows. Dispose of cigarette butts properly — never leave them in the yard or throw them in the lake.
04Dogs welcome
Well-behaved dogs are welcome — just let us know you're planning to bring one when you request to book. Clean up after them, keep them off the beds and furniture, and don't leave them alone if they're likely to bark.
05Wet gear at the door
Leave wet or muddy shoes at the door. Hang wet towels on the hooks in the screened-in porch or over the deck rail — not inside or over the furniture — and hang life jackets outside.
06Flames stay outdoors
No candles or incense indoors. The grill is available for outdoor use — please never leave it unattended, and be sure to turn it off when you're done.
07Mind the thermostat
Set it to a comfortable temperature while you're here: A/C no lower than 72° and heat no higher than 68°. Please don't run the A/C with windows or doors open. Before you leave, set it to 76° in summer or 62° in winter.
08Accidents happen — just tell us
A quick heads-up so we can fix it beats us finding it later.
09Lights off
Turn lights off when you leave a room, and turn off the porch and dock lights at night.
10The loft
The open loft is a great third sleeping space for kids. There's a rail, but keep an eye on little ones on the stairs. Please don't turn on the loft fan.
11Linens & towels
Provided. At checkout, strip the beds you used and wash and dry as much laundry as you can. Clean linens can be left on the bed for the housekeeper to remake, and towels can go in the dryer or be folded and put away. Please don't leave anything wet in the washer.
On the water
The water is the best part of Victory Hill — and the part we're most serious about. There's no lifeguard here, so these aren't negotiable:
- Nobody swims alone, and nobody swims after drinking or after dark.
- Kids near the water means an adult within arm's reach — not watching from the deck.
- Life jackets on every child and every non-swimmer, always.
- No diving or jumping headfirst — the depth is unreliable and there's hard stuff down there.
- No jumping off the top deck — ever. The lower deck is the swim deck: jumping in feet-first is fine, but no diving.
- The dock gets slick and the yard is steep. Watch your step, especially at night and in wet shoes.
- Boating is off the table for guests — no launching your own, no driving ours, no touching the lift. Ask the kind neighbors for a ride, or just enjoy the float.
